RPL and Credit Transfer

Nationally Accredited Training

All students who choose to complete training at Bellarine Training and Community Hub (BTACH) will be given the opportunity to apply for a Credit Transfer or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

RPL acknowledges the full range of an individual’s skills and knowledge, irrespective of how it has been acquired. This includes competencies gained through formal study, work experience, employment and other life experiences.

Students wishing to enquire about an RPL application should speak to a BTACH Compliance staff member at the time of enrolment and they will be given the relevant information and referred to an appropriate RPL provider.

CREDIT TRANSFER

BTACH, as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), recognises the Australian Qualifications Framework and Statement of Attainments issued by any other RTO.

If you have a prior Qualification or a Statement of Attainment issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework from any state or territory, the RTO will automatically give exemptions for those units of competency, provided they are current. Credit transfer will be provided on the student record.

PROCEDURE

  • A verified copy of the qualification is presented to the Compliance staff member with participant’s intended course of study. The participant is then informed of eligible credit transfers to be granted where relevant.
  • The relevant tutor is informed in writing of participant’s credit transfer status.
  • Qualification or unit must be the same code
  • No payment is required from the student to have the qualification credit transferred.
